However, basedon recent reports about launch-day sales of the S5, it looks like Samsung willdo just fine this year. According to a report from CNET, the Samsung Galaxy S5sold at more than twice the rate on its first day at U.K. mobile phoneretailers Phones 4U and Carphone Warehouse.

銆�銆�This is in line with earlier reports thatalso suggest the S5 has been a major success so far. On Monday, ZDNet Koreareported that European launch-day sales were up between 30%–100% from lastyear, and on Tuesday, the Korea Times reported that Samsung had shipped 1.3times as many S5 units as it did S4 units over the same time last year. Samsungis also expected to ship as many as 35 million S5s in Q2 alone. Samsung’s VP ofproduct strategy Yoon Han-kil also confirmed the higher numbers, tellingReuters that the S5 is “selling faster than the S4 so far.”
